Every time you hit send on this gorgeous new campaign, a handful of factors can impact how your email renders. These include: Your email service provider: Your ESP may make changes that affect your email code. Your subscriber 's settings : For example, your subscriber may have disabled or blocked images. Your subscriber 's email clients : Inbox providers, devices, operating systems, browsers, and email applications change regularly. Which of the above presents the greatest challenges? If you don't test regularly, it 's your subscriber 's email client because it changes often, usually without notice. Inbox vendors just don't give us much information about the changes they're making behind the scenes. To get an idea of how often email clients update their offerings, we decided to look at some of the most popular email client mobile apps:
Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and Outlook and their version histories. The frequency of change To shed some light on how often email apps change, we looked at the major players in mobile email clients. The five most popular email clients in the first quarter of 2021 place Apple iPhone at number one, followed by Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook and Yahoo! Mail. Apple's annual iOS releases include updates to its email clients, limiting major updates that might affect email E-Commerce Photo Editing Service rendering to the operating system's annual update. However, Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo! Mobile messaging apps make updates throughout the year. The Google Play Store, on the other hand, doesn't share release notes the way Apple does. So for Android, we used APKMirror to better understand when messaging apps update. It's also worth noting that even looking at these chunky email readers, we're hardly scratching the surface. There are thousands of inbox providers and device combinations that can make your email look different. Despite the somewhat narrow scope of the email client changes we explored (six mobile apps only), there was no shortage of updates. Even looking at just six popular mobile apps, we were still able to count 128 email client updates, from January to May 2021.
